Nearly two decades ago, my journey as a communication professional started at a global PR agency. Since then, I have intentionally leaned into learning everything I can about the art and the science of comms which led to opportunities spanning external and internal communications, across industries.
This is where I got to work with some of the best technology, telecom, IT services, and financial services brands in India, Asia and around the globe – in both agency and corporate environments.
While I am proud of most of the campaigns I have worked on, my best work has been with the C-suite to energize and align teams to a common purpose, inspire change and help them build their desired organizational culture. And that is where I found my calling.
During this time, I have found that communication has always been and still is the core of every relationship whether it’s at work or at home. One thing we often forget is that effective communication is more about listening with intent than talking. It’s a skill that I believe is often underrated, and should be learnt personally and professionally. And for organizations seeking to align teams, it can be of immense value to use listening to leverage the power of the collective. This is my mission to unlock!
As a member of the Forbes Communications Council and a member of the Asia Pacific Board of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), I am committed to contributing towards advancing the communication profession, making it a career of choice for the next generation. In my active pursuit of learning, I recently completed a Leadership Communication course with INSEAD. Next on my list is neuroscience and communication.
To borrow from Brian Herbert. As I say to my three beautiful kids who think I tell great stories for a living… “the capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to learn is a skill and the willingness to learn is a choice!”
